The Moscow Buddhist Center

The Moscow Buddhist Centre gives information about Buddhism and the possibility to practice its liberating methods. Here one can study the methods, which were given by Buddha two thousand five hundred years ago and have been practiced in India and then in Tibet since that time. In the West these methods have changed a little according to the features of Western culture, but their essence is the same as in Buddha’s time.

In the Buddhist Centre one can study Buddhism in the way he likes, visiting lectures of traveling teachers and meditating in the group. Here one can also get detailed explanations on every practice and do individual practices in the Gompa (hall for meditation) when it’s free from social events.

All meditations and lectures for the beginners are free. Lectures of foreign travelling teachers are mostly held in English with consecutive translation into Russian. Meditation on Wednesday is held in English. Language of the rest center's program is mainly Russian.

There are meditation texts, books and magazines in English often available in the center.

You don’t need any special clothes, mat or pillow for meditation.
