Does Buddhism help to overcome the fear of death?

As a result of meditation and studying the Dharma one starts to be aware of the space between thoughts and behind the thoughts – the space which «knows» the thoughts. Despite the fact that all of the awareness objects come and go, the awareness itself is indestructible. This is the most important and essential experience in Buddhism. When it occurs no doubts are left that mind is timeless, that nothing can destroy it or harm it.

From this level of fearlessness everything appears to be interesting and joyful, and besides we become kind, because others are numerous and we are only one. Knowing mind is the key to any useful development.
