peter_presentation_3«PETER THE GREAT» is a project of development of Karma Kagyu Diamond Way Buddhist center in St. Petersburg. The project is aimed on creating opportunities for more people to practice the methods of the Diamond Way.

St. Petersburg Buddhist Center was founded in 1989 by Lama Ole Nydahl. At that time it was the first center in the USSR which gave an impulse to open and develop 80 Buddhist centers of the Karma Kagyu Diamond Way now existing on the territory of Russia.

Today St. Petersburg Buddhist Centre is located at Nicholsky pereulok, 7. It can host up to 100 people for lectures or meditations, which is not enough for such a big city like ours. One of the biggest city projects of the center was an exhibition of Tibetan art «Treasures of Buddhism», which was successfully held in February-March 2012. More than five thousand people interested in Buddhism visited the exhibition. Among them were famous fine art experts and specialists in the field of Buddhist studies not only from St. Petersburg, but whole Russia and Europe.
