Being a Buddhist in everyday life

Buddhism on the level of everyday life means doing what is in front of your nose escaping neither into the past nor the future. Do one’s best. And remind yourself: «I have a Refuge, and it is the basis». That brings much more strength and surplus – and we can try to behave like a Buddha every day. As well as we manage.

Contemporary lay Buddhists have fulfilling lives, as well as they meditate because they don’t only want to become older, but also become wiser. It is worth trying, as much as possible, to avoid causing harm and strive to be beneficial to others. But the most effective practice is to keep the highest view on all that is happening.
